Understand reserved credits and failed actions

Find the existing action before starting more work, and distinguish a confirmed failure from a result that needs recovery.

Updated

A reservation holds credits for existing work

“Credits reserved for work in progress” means an action has held credits while its outcome is being established. Those credits are excluded from Available. A reservation is not a second purchase and is not, by itself, proof of a final spend.

Usable delivery settles the action’s credit use. A definitive failure releases its reservation. A timeout, missing response, or uncertain submission can require reconciliation; it does not always establish a failure. Buying more credits does not recover an existing job.

Recover the action you already started

  1. Stay signed in to the account that started the action. Open the existing Studio workspace and selected design version.
  2. Read its current result or error, then inspect Available and the reserved amount in Add credits.
  3. For a preparation that says it is processing or being reconciled, return to that same version and follow its existing recovery state. Keep the original version and saved operation; do not delete it or submit a separate preparation to try to release credits.
  4. If the action has definitively failed, check the balance again before explicitly choosing another action. If a result exists, inspect and use that result instead of recreating it.
  5. Contact AMS if the original result cannot be recovered, the status remains unresolved, or a definitive failure disagrees with the reserved balance.

What the different outcomes mean

What the different outcomes mean
Symptom or statusExplanationSafe recovery
Credits reserved; action still runningAn existing action has not settledReturn to the same workspace/version and inspect its status.
Preparation is still processingThe operation is saved and the output is not yet readyCheck this version again; avoid a separate submission.
Preparation is being reconciledThe submission outcome needs reconciliationKeep the saved operation and ask support if it cannot recover.
Definitive output validation or provider failureThe failed preparation should release reserved creditsCheck the balance. Report a remaining reservation or repeated valid-source failure.
A result exists but download failsDelivery failure does not establish preparation failureRecover delivery from the owned design; do not re-prepare solely because of a download error.
Released daily credits did not appear todayThe reservation belonged to an earlier UTC dateRelease returns to the original daily bucket, not today’s allowance.

Check price and limits before a new action

Review the exact action’s current quote. Make Print Ready regularly costs 4 credits and is currently waived to 0 at launch, subject to the quote and availability. The waiver has a separate 10-preparation rolling 24-hour limit; the 15 daily credits reset by UTC date. Reaching a preparation limit is not proof of missing wallet credits.

If the interface says the price changed, review the replacement quote before an explicit retry. If the original outcome is uncertain, recover that original operation first. An existing prepared version can be reused; changing its pixels creates a new version that needs its own readiness check.

Ask support to investigate an unresolved reservation

Include the tool, original action time, displayed balances and reserved amount, exact error, and workspace/design/version or operation identifier if shown. Explain whether a result was delivered, failed validation, or remains unavailable. Preserve the original work so support can trace its state. No automatic refund timing or release time is promised for an uncertain outcome.

Use Contact AMS support below and submit the help request. Include the page or tool, approximate time with your time zone, exact visible status or error, and the purchase, design, version, or workspace identifier if shown. A redacted screenshot can help. Never send a full card number, CVV, bank password, authentication code, access token, or signed download URL.
