Build your store

Prices, delivery, and payouts

Understand what shoppers pay, what an item costs you, and when proceeds become available.

Read as Markdown ↗

You will: Check product prices and delivery choices without mistaking estimated profit for a payout.

What you need

  • A draft store with at least one product and its artwork placed.
  • The adult owner’s review of the current store-owner agreement.

Estimate your profit

Try a selling price and sales quantity. Add any separate expenses you know about, then see how many items would reach your goal.

What could your store earn?

These are sample numbers. Replace them with your product’s current Your cost and retail price from Pricing & Shipping. This calculator does not read your store.

Include the product and its printing.
Item price before shopper-paid tax and shipping.
Try the number you think you might sell.
Add expenses or a fundraising goal
Add costs your group pays separately, such as pickup fees shown in your store. Do not count costs already in the item cost.
How much you want left after the costs you entered.

Estimated profit$300.00For 50 items, after the costs you entered.

Total item sales
$900.00
Item costs
− $600.00
Other expenses
− $0.00

$6.00 per item before other expenses. $18.00 selling price − $12.00 item cost.

This plans one product at one price. Only the costs you enter are subtracted. Other fees, refunds, or adjustments can change the result. It is not an AMS quote or a payout.

Three numbers to understand

On the screenWhat it means
Your costThe product cost used by the store’s pricing calculation. Check it after you set the artwork placements.
Retail / Retail priceThe selling price for the item. Checkout also shows applicable tax and delivery charges.
Profit / Your profitAn estimated difference between retail and cost. It is not guaranteed earnings or an available payout.

Set and check your prices

  1. Open Store Launch → Pricing & Shipping

Choose $ per item or % of cost. Enter the amount you want to add above the cost.

  2. Check each retail price

A product can have its own price override. Check every product rather than assuming the store-wide setting changed them all. Fix any minimum retail price warning.

  3. Choose Save pricing & shipping

Wait for the save confirmation. In an already-live store, saved pricing and delivery choices can affect shoppers immediately.

Supplier fees: count suppliers and batches

A supplier is a company AMS orders a product from. A production batch groups orders that move forward together. The supplier small-order fee is checked separately for each supplier in each batch. It is not a fee on every shopper’s cart.

Open Store Launch → Pricing & Shipping → Supplier-sourced items. Read the fee, waiver amount, and value basis shown for your store. The default setup is a $30 fee, waived at $500 in selling value for that supplier’s items in the same batch. Store settings can differ.

  1. Choose how to handle a small batch

Deduct fee from my profit (default) records an owner-paid fee for payout deduction. Hold orders until the threshold is met marks the supplier group as held; shoppers may have to wait longer.

  2. Check the value that counts

The default uses the selling value of that supplier’s items, before tax and delivery. Other suppliers’ items and AMS-stock items do not raise this supplier’s total. A customized store can use cost value instead; check the displayed basis.

  3. Save and review before launch

Save pricing & shipping after choosing the policy. Review your production release and delivery plan with AMS before promising a date. In Payouts, check Fees deducted; the default supplier fee reduces what is available to the owner.

Default-setup example onlySupplier fee
One supplier, one batch, $200 in selling value$30
One supplier, one batch, $500 in selling value$0
Two suppliers, each at $300 in the same batch$60 total: $30 for each supplier
The same supplier at $200 in each of two separate batches$60 total: $30 for each batch

Keep different fees separate

The product’s displayed profit is an estimate before every separate expense. In the profit planner, open Add expenses or a fundraising goal. Use Other expenses, total ($) for separate costs your group expects. Enter $60 for two expected $30 supplier groups, not $30 for every shirt.

Practice example: 20 items sold at $17 with a $12 item cost leave $100 before separate expenses. If two separate supplier groups each owe $30, entering $60 in Other expenses leaves an estimated $40 after the entered costs. Other fees or refunds can change the result.

After a refund, cancellation, or batch change, ask AMS to confirm the supplier-fee adjustment and payout balance. Do not assume every fee has been automatically reversed.

FeeWhat it applies to
Product costEach item; check the cost after choosing artwork placements.
Supplier small-order feeEach qualifying supplier group in each production batch; default owner-paid amount is deducted from payout.
School/business pickup$10 per drop batch, charged to the owner; separate from supplier groups.
AMS pickup locker$1 per pickup order, charged to the owner.
Shopper delivery and taxShown at checkout for the selected order and delivery choice.
Refund service fee10% of the amount refunded, waived for AMS fault; handled with AMS through support.
Optional AMS customer service$5 per ticket charged to the owner, waived for AMS defect or late production.

Choose delivery on purpose

ChoiceWhat to check before turning it on
Ship to homeEach shopper chooses a shipping option at checkout. Check the displayed charges. A flat-rate setting changes how shipping is priced.
School / business pickupEnter the recipient and location, and choose a batch cadence. A batch is a group of pickup orders sent together. The owner is charged $10 per drop batch; shoppers pay no pickup fee. Plan who hands out the items.
AMS local pickupThe owner pays a $1 locker fee per pickup order. Availability depends on the configured local pickup radius.
Rush processing / Faster shipping optionsThese are separate choices. Faster shipping does not remove the time needed to make an item. Review the actual options before offering them.

A sale is not an instant payout

  1. Order paid

Paid-order profit may still be awaiting delivery.

  2. Delivery complete

Delivered, picked up, or completed orders enter a two-business-day hold.

  3. Available now

Eligible amounts are reduced by fees and previous or pending payouts.

  4. Request reviewed

AMS reviews your request. This is not an automatic bank transfer.

  1. Open Payouts

Read Awaiting delivery, 2-business-day hold, Fees deducted, and Available now. The number to use for a request is Available now.

  2. Choose the amount and method

The screen supports check or Zelle. Enter the details requested for that method, check them carefully, then submit the request. The minimum request is $1, and the amount cannot exceed the available balance.

  3. Check the request status

Requested, approved, and paid are different states. If you need help, contact AMS with your store name. Do not send banking details through an article feedback button.
