AMS Instant Peel DTF: standard starting steps

  1. Pre-press the garment

The standard guide calls for 10 seconds to remove moisture and flatten the fabric. Make sure the print area is flat.

  2. Position and press the transfer

Use the product’s listed temperature, time, and pressure. Test the actual press and garment.

  3. Peel and inspect the sample

For this Instant Peel workflow, peel immediately while hot. Check the edges and small details before pressing more items.

  4. Use a finishing press only when the product allows it

The standard guide offers an optional covered post-press for 10–15 seconds. This is not a general rule for puff or specialty transfers.

Standard plastisol: starting steps

  1. Pre-press for 10 seconds

Remove moisture and make a flat pressing area.

  2. Position and press

Use the matching plastisol settings and test the actual garment.

  3. Let it reach the instructed peel stage

Use the standard guide’s warm to lukewarm-cool peel rather than the Instant Peel DTF step.

  4. Follow the standard finishing step

The standard plastisol guide includes a covered final press for 20–30 seconds. Do not use this on puff unless its exact instructions say to.

If a heat transfer does not stick

  1. Stop the batch

Set aside the problem sample. Do not repeat the same settings across all the garments.

  2. Check the basics

Confirm the transfer type, press temperature, time, pressure, peel timing, and a flat contact area. Seams can stop pressure from reaching the design evenly.

  3. Record what happened

Note the garment material, press settings, and whether the problem started before or after peeling. Take clear photos of the item and affected area.

  4. Ask before making a risky change

Send AMS the order number, photos, product name, and settings used. Do not keep increasing heat or adding presses without checking the product instructions.

Care for standard decorated apparel

The standard DTF and plastisol guides call for washing inside out in cool water and drying with low or cool heat. Follow the garment’s care label too.

For a specialty finish or a hard item decorated with UV, use that product’s care instructions. A general shirt-care rule does not establish dishwasher safety or outdoor durability.

What success looks like

The whole design has transferred, small details stay down, and there are no lifted edges. The sample looks right on the actual garment or surface.

Keep the settings and product name with your job notes. If you change garment material, press, or transfer product, test again.
