Ordering with AMS

Fit designs and fix sheet warnings

Understand sheet width, spacing, rotation, and the warnings to check before ordering.

Read as Markdown ↗

You will: Build a layout that includes the required prints at the correct size.

What you need

  • Artwork already added to the builder.
  • The intended print dimensions and copy counts.

Build, then inspect

  1. Check the design list first

Compare each width, height, and quantity with your plan. Packing cannot correct a wrong count or misspelled design.

  2. Run the builder’s packing action

Choose Auto-Build on the canvas. Some desktop quick-start screens call it Auto-Nest. The mobile builder can also rebuild after a design change.

  3. Check the whole result

Inspect the generated sheet area and design counts. Look for overlap, out-of-bounds, missing-copy, or quality warnings before adding the sheet to the cart.

What the settings change

SettingMeaning
Width (in)The sheet’s usable width. It is different from one design’s print width.
Margin (in)Space reserved around the outside.
Gap (in)Space between placed prints.
Rotation / Allow RotationLets packing turn artwork to improve fit. Check the result.
RollThe sheet can grow with the designs. A preset starting size is not a guaranteed final length.
Open the gear (Settings) icon beside Shop. Width, Margin, and Gap are in inches. Rebuild and inspect after changes; example prices are not a live quote.

Match a warning to the next step

On mobile, the Issues area groups the available warnings. Where a warning offers a jump action, use it to find the affected print. “All good” for overlap/bounds does not approve the artwork’s spelling, detail, or print size.

ProblemWhat to do
Overlapping printsSelect the affected copy, move it or rebuild, then inspect the spacing.
A print is outside the sheetCheck sheet width and the design’s dimensions. Rebuild and review.
A design is missingCompare the list, quantities, and all sheet areas before adding more copies.
Low resolution or blurry artworkCheck the source pixels at final print size. Moving it on the sheet will not add detail.
A blank preview or a job stuck processingKeep the session open. Do not approve an unseen proof. Ask AMS with the visible status.

How many small logos fit?

First decide the required number of finished prints. For example, 100 people who each need one small logo need 100 prints. Then add that design at the intended size and quantity to the builder.

Width × height alone cannot guarantee the fit. Spacing, margins, rotation, the shape, and the final packing matter. Use the built result and current quote for the order, then check all 100 prints are represented.

Compare the list with the canvas: the size is 3 × 3 inches and there are four copies. Prices shown are practice examples.

Small-logo check

Check each item as you go. This checklist resets when you leave the page.

0 of 4 checked. Work through the remaining items before continuing.

Optional optimization tools

Some screens offer extra nesting or efficiency tools. Availability can vary. Read the comparison before applying an optimized layout, then check your copies and print size again.

More efficient packing does not promise a particular saving or a better-looking print. Use the current sheet result and price. Keep advanced settings outside your first-order checklist.

Control, when shownWhat to check
Max Efficiency ModeAn extra packing option. Compare the resulting layout without changing your intended print size.
Polygon Optimizer (beta)Uses artwork boundaries for packing instead of treating every design only as a rectangle. Inspect the result and leave room to cut.
AI Segmentation (SAM 3)A boundary-detection option used by the optimizer. Check any offered quote or requirement before running an AI action.
Polygon Buffer (in)Extra space around the detected boundary. Check small details and cutting room.
Auto OptimizeControls automatic optimization when available. Review changes rather than assuming an automatic result is approved.
