Vector ProFiles for AMS printing and saved reuse
Consider clear flat artwork for AMS printing and saved reuse. Compare the actual conversion before approval. Fix source wording first; a good original may already work.
The saved vector stays protected for AMS printing. Customer downloads exclude SVG/PDF masters, clean PNGs and vector-derived .ams files.

Check the source and the job
- A clear flat logo or illustration can be a candidate. Inspect the actual conversion.
- Fix wrong wording or unwanted content first. A good original may already work.
- The saved vector stays protected for AMS printing.
- Customer downloads exclude SVG/PDF masters, clean PNGs and vector-derived .ams files.
Start with the artwork you actually have
A raster image is made of pixels; a vector describes shapes. Converting artwork traces those shapes. Your review decides whether the result keeps the details you need.
| Your source | Useful next step |
|---|---|
| Clear logo or flat illustration | Consider conversion, then compare the real result with your source. |
| Photo, soft shading or texture | Keep the best original. Tracing can change those details; compare another preparation path first. |
| Wrong wording or unwanted background | Correct the content first, then review the corrected source. |
| Tiny or ambiguous screenshot | Find the clearest original. Tracing cannot be relied on to recover information you cannot see. |
| Existing vector original | Keep it and check its supported upload path before converting a raster copy. |
| Original that works at the intended size | You may be able to print it without conversion. |
| Approved Vector ProFile already saved | Reopen that version for supported sizes instead of converting again. |
These are selection guidelines, not a prediction for your file. The raster conversion entry supports PNG, JPEG and WebP; SVG and PDF do not start that same action.
Choose the job before choosing the tool
| Path | What you need | What you still check |
|---|---|---|
| Keep the original | Use artwork that already works at the physical size. | Detail, background, dimensions and order proof. |
| Request artwork changes | Try a new version with changes to wording, details or background. | Whether the new version made the changes you intended. |
| Staff File Fix help | Get help assessing or correcting a source. This is a separate service. | The proposed work, its terms and the result. |
| Vector ProFiles | Approve a saved version for supported AMS sizes and reuse. | The traced details, each size and the sheet proof. |
Keep the source available. Conversion is not spellcheck, a redraw instruction or a promise to remove the background.
Check five details before approval
Compare the same part of Your file and Vector. Open Show detail, inspect the important areas, then review the whole design again.
- Lettering: read every word, number and punctuation mark against the intended source.
- Holes and gaps: check open spaces inside letters and between close shapes.
- Thin strokes: compare narrow lines and small details. A preview cannot certify them for every physical size.
- Edges and unwanted shapes: look for missing corners, extra marks or source pixels that became shapes.
- Background: if This background will print appears, approve only if that background belongs in the design.
Choose Approve this vector only when that version is the one you want. Choose Don’t use this one if it is unsuitable. A successfully delivered preview stays charged when declined. Vector approval is separate from sheet proof, checkout and payment.
Set the width, then check the height
The approved artwork keeps its proportions. For artwork twice as wide as it is tall, a 12-inch width gives a 6-inch height. Use the visible artwork’s shape, without empty canvas around it.
Height = print width × artwork height ÷ artwork width
Supported renders use 600 pixels per printed inch, rounded to whole pixels. You do not set width and height independently to stretch the design.
| Physical size | Copies | Actual output pixels |
|---|---|---|
| 12 × 6 inches | 2 | 7,200 × 3,600 |
| 4 × 2 inches | 10 | 2,400 × 1,200 |

Tall-art check: a 1:2 shape at 4 inches wide becomes 8 inches tall: 2,400 × 4,800 pixels. This is a calculated example, not another observed result.
A supported render still has to fit the sheet
| Check | Supported limit |
|---|---|
| Shortest printed edge | At least 0.5 inch |
| Pixels along either axis | At most 32,000 |
| Pixels in one render | At most 250 million |
| Size rows in one request | 1–20 |
| Copies across the request | At most 10,000 total, with whole positive counts |
The shape determines which limit you reach first. Passing these checks does not show that all copies fit the selected sheet. Check actual dimensions, placement, counts and order proof.
Know when conversion credits settle
Read the current quote for the selected source before starting. An older demonstration does not establish today’s price or a promotion.
| What happened | Consequence and next step |
|---|---|
| A valid conversion preview is ready | The conversion charge settles once. Review and approval come afterward. |
| You decline that successful preview | The conversion remains charged. Declining is different from a technical failure. |
| Conversion definitively fails technically | The reservation is released. Review the failure and current quote before trying again. |
| The response is interrupted or unknown | Check existing work. Do not infer failure, a refund or a second charge from the interruption alone. |
| You add a supported size of the same approved version | No new conversion charge for that version. Physical transfers remain paid. |
| You change the source or start a new conversion | Review that source’s quote and result separately. |
For balances and wallet questions, use Design Credits help. Approving artwork does not pay for a transfer order.
Match a problem to the right next step
Return to existing work before starting over. Saved-vector sizing opens in the My Designs picker inside Gang Sheet Builder or the My Designs drawer inside Studio.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Wrong wording or unwanted content | Correct the source through an appropriate artwork path before another conversion. |
| Price or selected source changed | Confirm the intended version and new quote. Resolve existing pending work first. |
| Conversion status is uncertain | Reopen the intended source in the owning account and check its result or pending operation. |
| A render response was lost | Reopen the saved vector and retry the retained render request. Keep browser recovery data while resolving it. |
| A confirmed refusal offers Edit sizes | Correct the dimensions, then explicitly submit the corrected sizes. |
| Previously rendered sizes did not load | Enter the needed size manually when allowed. Missing history is not a reason to reconvert. |
| The approved version is already saved | Reopen it for supported sizes and copies. |
A retained-request retry and an edited size submission serve different situations.
If the state is unclear, ask AMS about the existing work. Include the visible status, approximate start time and requested sizes.
Recover interrupted vector workPlan each approval
Work backward from when you need the transfers. Confirm fulfillment separately; an approved vector is still artwork, with an order left to check.
- Source ready. Settle wording, background and the clearest usable original.
- Conversion reviewed. Inspect the actual comparison and approve the intended version.
- Order checked. Review sizes, copies, layout and final proof; complete checkout and payment.
- Fulfillment confirmed. Verify the production, pickup or shipping timing for that order.
For a Houston pickup job, confirm that the order is ready before making the trip. Artwork approval alone does not establish pickup readiness.
For a Texas shipped order, allow actual transit time after confirmed production. Check the order’s fulfillment timing before promising an in-hand date.
Check your conversion plan
Choose a starting point and test a proportional size. This checks your plan, not the artwork itself. The starting values are a 2:1 example; replace them with your artwork and intended size.
Consider conversion for flat artwork. Compare the result before approving it.

Take the checked plan into the builder
Select or upload the intended owned artwork, sign in when prompted and choose Convert to vector on eligible artwork.
Read the current quote, compare the result and approve deliberately. Set supported sizes and copies, then check the sheet proof.
A successfully delivered conversion stays charged even if declined. New supported sizes of that approved version need no extra conversion charge.
Physical transfers remain paid. The saved vector stays protected for AMS printing.
Reuse the approved version next time
Another supported print size of the same approved version does not require another conversion. Keep the saved version instead of downloading or reuploading a preview.
- Sign in to the account that owns the artwork.
- Open the My Designs picker inside Gang Sheet Builder or the My Designs drawer in Studio. Choose the saved vector to open its sizing dialog.
- Select a previous size or enter another supported width and copy count. Render and add the sizes to your sheet.
- Check the new layout, quantities and order proof before ordering.
The separate My Designs library helps you find artwork and offers Create DTF sheet. The vector size editor is in the builder picker and Studio drawer.

Questions before you convert
Will conversion fix a misspelled word or remove the background?
Do not rely on conversion for those changes. Correct the source first, then inspect the actual result. Read every word and check the background you intend to print.
Do I have to convert artwork that already prints well?
You may not need to. Check the original at the intended physical size. A Vector ProFile provides a reviewed saved version for supported AMS sizes and reuse; it is not required for every original.
Do I get credits back if I decline the result?
A successfully delivered valid preview remains charged when declined. A definitive technical conversion failure releases its reservation. An uncertain response establishes neither outcome; check existing work first.
Does a new print size mean another conversion charge?
New supported sizes of the same approved version have no new conversion charge. Physical printing is separate. A changed source or new conversion has its own quote and review.
Can I choose any width and height?
Height follows the approved artwork’s proportions. Minimum-edge, pixel-axis and total-pixel limits apply, followed by actual sheet-fit checks. Passing the planner does not approve the artwork or layout.
Can I download my Vector ProFile?
Vector customer downloads exclude SVG/PDF masters, clean PNGs and vector-derived .ams files. Reuse saved vectors in the builder picker or Studio drawer.
Eligible non-vector ProFiles have different download rules.
Where do I change sizes on saved artwork?
Choose the saved vector from the My Designs picker inside Gang Sheet Builder or the My Designs drawer in Studio. The separate My Designs library helps you find artwork and create a sheet; it does not contain the vector size editor.
What should I do after a lost response or refused size?
Retry the retained request after an uncertain render response. A confirmed size error offers Edit sizes for corrected dimensions. Check existing work before you start another conversion.
Does approving the vector approve or pay for my order?
No. Review the sheet’s artwork, dimensions, copies and layout, then complete the separate order-proof, checkout and payment steps.
