The 2" depth gives you room to layer items like badges, coins, or dimensional memorabilia behind your printed or engraved artwork. The frame's backing panel (with red velour) sits at the rear, so you can create a staged display. Common setups include an engraved walnut nameplate in front and a logo or photo printed via 3D UV printing behind it.
Laser engraving works best for clean lines, text, and single-color designs—it creates a permanent mark by burning into the walnut surface. 3D UV printing is ideal if you want full-color logos, photographs, or multi-color designs. Some customers combine both: engrave a nameplate and print a color graphic on a separate panel layered inside the frame.
Assembly is required. The frame components arrive separately and need to be secured together. This is standard for shadow boxes and usually takes 10–15 minutes per unit. Detailed assembly instructions will come with your order.
The recommended decoration area is 11.5" x 14.5"—this leaves a 0.25" margin on all sides to account for the frame edge. Both laser engraving and 3D UV printing will apply within these boundaries. If your design uses the full 12" x 15" frame face, outer edges may be cut off or may look misaligned once framed.
Solid walnut works well for indoor office and home display settings. If you're planning displays in high-moisture or direct-sunlight environments, confirm durability requirements with the supplier before ordering, as environmental factors may affect the wood and velour backing over time.
This product comes with red velour backing as standard. If you need a different backing color, contact the supplier to see if alternatives are available, or consider layering your own backing material behind the frame components during assembly.
