You personalize the plaque face within the 8.5" × 11.5" decoration area. The black brass plate is part of the plaque's fixed design. Your laser engraving or 3D UV printing will be applied to the walnut surface around and above the plate, giving you flexibility to incorporate both your logo and text.
Laser engraving creates an etched surface—sharp, permanent, and best for single-color logos or text. It works particularly well on walnut, enhancing the grain. 3D UV printing allows full-color graphics and photos, but test your color choices through a proof to confirm the look against the walnut tone and existing bronze hardware.
3D UV printing supports full color, so you can use color logos and multicolor designs if desired. However, test how your specific colors appear against the walnut and antique bronze in the proof stage—darker, more saturated colors often have the strongest visual impact on wood.
Submit vector files (PDF, EPS, or AI) for best results with laser engraving, as they scale cleanly. For 3D UV printing, high-resolution raster files (300 DPI minimum) work well. Include your design in the dimensions you want it to appear—our team will confirm positioning within the 8.5" × 11.5" area during proof review.
The decoration area is measured across the plaque face with conservative margins from the edges. Plan for your logo to occupy the upper portion and your text (names, dates, achievement statement) in the lower portion. During proof review, you'll see exactly how your design looks positioned—that's your chance to request adjustments before production.
The walnut has a protective finish. Laser engraving creates a permanent etched mark that darkens slightly and won't fade. 3D UV printing bonds the ink to the sealed surface and resists fading with normal office display conditions. Both methods are durable for long-term recognition plaques that will be displayed and handled.
