Laser engraving works cleanly with solid shapes, solid fills, and single- or two-color designs. Avoid full-color photo artwork, gradients, and lines thinner than 0.1". The faux leather takes detail well when your artwork is bold and vector-based.
Kota Pro is heat-activated, meaning it stays non-sticky during handling and placement. Once you apply heat (typically with a heat press), it bonds permanently. This control reduces misalignment errors and creates a more durable, long-lasting attachment than traditional pressure-sensitive adhesives.
After laser engraving, position each patch on the garment and apply heat using a heat press or similar equipment. The exact temperature, pressure, and dwell time depend on your production setup. Always test on a sample piece first to dial in your settings.
The Kota Pro adhesive creates a permanent bond designed for high-contact apparel like jackets, hats, and work bags. Durability depends on proper application (correct heat and pressure) and the care instructions of the garment itself.
Submit vector files (Adobe Illustrator .ai, EPS) or high-resolution raster images. Keep all thin lines and text at least 0.1" wide, and ensure your full design fits within the 2.8" × 2.8" decoration area. Black or grayscale designs are ideal for laser reproduction.
